Apple Pie

INGREDIENTS
4 Red delicious apples
4 McIntosh apple
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup + 1sp granulated sugar
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp allspice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
Pillsbury pie crust
1 stick of butter
Vanilla ice cream
INSTRUCTIONS
Peel and thinly slice apples, add slices to bowl with 2 tbsp of lemon juice.
In the same bowl add 1/4 cup of flour, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp of allspice, 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg.
Mix until the ingredients are combined. While the juices release from the apples, preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Grease your pie dish with 1 tbsp of room temperature butter, lay one crust round in the dish. with a fork poke crust
Take the remaining crust round and cut it into 1/2 inch slices.
Add the apple filling into the pie crust and add 5 pats of butter to the top.
Lattice your pie crust on top making sure the longest strip goes in the center of the pie and gently pinching the two doughs together.
Melt the remaining butter and brush it on the crust then sprinkle 1 tsp of granulated sugar on top.
Place pie in the oven. After 20 min or when the dough starts to get golden brown add tinfoil to the top loosely.
Place pie back in the oven for the remaining 40 mins lowering the temperature to 350 degrees.
When the filling is bubbling it is time to take it out and let it cool for 30 min.
Finally, you can cut the pie and serve it with vanilla ice cream.
