The first loaf

It’s not that scary

First and foremost, this is not perfect by any means.

If you're new to sourdough like me you might be very confused or even frustrated.

Here I'm going to simplify the process and help you accomplish your first loaf of sourdough.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION! kinda.

1. When you start your dough make sure you’re home for the next two hours.

To make sourdough you need a starter. If you decide to make your own from scratch there's many rules that need to be followed and the process can be very stressful.

That's not why you're here though. So, we're going to purchase a dehydrated starter from a trusted bread maker that has mastered the art of sourdough. If you purchase the one I did she sends a thorough guide on how to rehydrate the starter. Button below!

Ingredients:

100g of starter

375g warm purified water

500g  bread flour

11g salt

A stone grade flour I used white wheat flour

If you don't have a scale I HIGHLY recommend you buy one. Measuring any other way is just not as accurate.
